Default turn signal housing replacement

Hello all, I need to change my passenger side front turn signal housing on my 83 Euro SC because a previous owner had cut its back out to make room for a radar detector and relocated the bulb to the back corner. I have scrapped the 20 year old detector, but am now left with a gapping hole where it used to be. He also removed the socket/refector assembly and replaced it with an aftermarket socket. So I have ordered a new housing and looking in my service manual it talks about removing the front bumper to get at the bolts that hold the assembly in. Sounds like a lot of work. Can you replace this housing without doing that? Thanks,Warren

There are many 911's out there and you didn't state what year your car is. If it's an 84-89 Carrera you don't have to remove the bumper. I didn't when I changed mine.
