Default 245/45-16's? Oh no!

I know this has been covered before, but my '85 3.2 has 16x8's on the rear and I can't find any street tires in 245/45-16. Suggestions or am I out of luck?

Toyo RA1 & BS RE11 are available in 245/45 sizes, but w/ only 8s 225/50 will work as well as 245/45

Outstanding! I have actually had good luck with my DE students with those tires. Don't know why I couldn't find them before. Thanks!

The 245/45 16" size is at the top of this link, near the picture of the tire.

Ordered the RE-11's today, probably should buy two sets of rears so this doesn't happen again. Thanks for the help all.

and now they are all sold out again and TireRack say no more coming Saw they only had a couple in stock last month and meant to buy them

I've just bought a set of 16" (which I prefer to 17") and am very worried that this may be a real issue for our cars in the future. There are some car manufacturers movig back to 16" rims (Suzuki Swift Sport and new Toyota AE86) but I don't think they will be going as wide as 245

wouldnt a 245 on an 8inch rim look sort of baloonish anyway ?

I havent actually seen one.. doesnt seem like the end of the world though as narrower tires would fit ..

But any of you feel this is an intolerable situation i would be more than happy to take your 8 inch Fuchs off your hands dirt cheap

I'm running RE-11s, 205s and 245s on 7" and 8", and they look and work great on DEs. Sure hope they continue to make them.

Try a Firestone dealer.

Over here (in Germany) we use the Bridgestone tire as an example. I have just recently got my 245s for my rear 9in Fuchs. Maybe that's a source

I jumped on the last few Fuzion ZR1 tires a few weeks ago. Super cheap. I'm waiting for Bridgestone to ever bring back the SO-3.

Congrats on finding RE-11 in 245/45-16 somewhere in stock. A call to Bridgestone says, "no production schedule, so no ETA on any delivery." Tire Rack does not show 245/45-16 street tires, only a few racing/autocross tires. In fact, only 1 RE-11 and 2 RE11A in size 16 in. You might consider g-Force Sport COMP-1 from BF Goodrich. A 255/50-16 is a substitute (9" rim). OR 245/45-16 (7 to 8.5" rims). Some say "mind the stagger" using overall dia. Also, a 1" overall dia. increase = 0.5" radius bump (upper wheel well clearance).

Saw this -- I am running the same size or 225s on my 951 Fuchs in the RE11s. I hope they make them too. Dang it ......... find something that works good and now it goes away . Pisser I tell you.
