Hello gents,
First post on Rennlist and hoping to get some advice from some of the knowledgable folks here.
Some quick background: I'm an American that's been living and working overseas for the last 10 year in Singapore. I'll be returning to my home state of Texas in about a month and I have an opportunity to pick up a 74 911 from a friend for a pretty decent price.
It's not an all original car (it's got a 3.2 in it), so I thought it would be fun to make it a project car and maybe turn it into an RS/RSR clone or something similar. Something like this is what I'm thinking: http://www.patrickmotorsports.com/pr...36l-dme-clone/
I have two questions I hope you can help me with:
1) What's a reasonable budget to do something similar? (Assume the chassis doesn't require a lot of rust repair, etc.)
2) Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the Texas area with a good reputation to do something like this? Who's the best for this kind of job?
Thanks in advance!
Marc

Do they also have the capacity / desire to do ground-up restoration or "hot rod" projects as well, paint / bodywork, on-site machining, etc?
