Default Hi All

After many years or debating, I have decided to purchase a 911. Very excited and wanted to ask the members what they thought of this deal

http://www.pedigreemotorcars.com/vie...ray%20Beach-FL

Any good sites where I can peruse 80s era 911s? I have tried autotrader, ebay, etc...

Thank you!

Wow, $34k, seems about $10k too high at first blush. Check out Pelican ASAP.

really ? the guys first post and you tell him to go to another forum ?

OP you should go test drive as many as you can and get yourself informed before making ANY purchasing descision . The fact you are so excited could do you harm. Try to relax and be pragmatic ...

I also think 34K is 10k too high .. peruse the internet ask questions. there are even guys here with cars they would like to sell. Good luck with the hunt, its the best part.

hard to say, but I'd bet it's been sprayed. The last photo of the filler door is the clue to my eye.

Agree with the rest of the boys ... 10K too much, and that's if the car is perfect for 24K !
If you know someone with a Panorama Porsche magazine there are usually some good buys
in the for sale section !

Cheers !

The OP is looking for resources, and that forum is a great resource, so yes, I think its sound, honest advice to check it out. Is there some turf war I am not aware of?

Are you in Delray Beach? There is a world famous Rennlister in Delray Beach that is a very good friend of mine. His name here is "points". He is less than 3 miles from that dealership. He may be willing to go take a quick look for you. It does look like a great ride, but it is priced on the high end of the spectrum.

Try ownster.com

Go to top right and type in 1986 Porsche for example and it will give you a composite for Ebay, craigslist and many other obscure advertising sites.

I aslo agree that 34k is absolutely too high.....24k should net a fabulous 80's 911

I agree, you need to test drive a few 911.... maybe even the water pumpers. $if you are willing to spend that much money, you have plenty options in the 911 world. Test drive the 80's, 90, and the 2k's 911... they are all great cars... and they are all different.

Thanks for all the responses! Def. wasnt expecting such a quick turnaround. Alot of forums are different.

34 k is really high. I live in NYC and wanted to buy an 80s 911 with full service records etc. This deal looks good

http://www.zenmotorsports.net/web/us...orida/3284222/

But I need to do more research. I guess I want to pull the trigger asap because I am the type of person who overthinks things and never ends up doing them.

There's some strange things on that car. The steering wheel is not the one that should be on an 85, the rear seat backs don't have the red locking pin mechanism (at least i cant see it), the tire pressure tag shows signs of a repaint, and the rear wheels have a weird finish. The finish could be due to the lighting, but it looks more like the Euromeister "anodized" finish which is actually more of a grooved machine finish with clear shot over it.

The 87 in Delray is 10K too high. At least they went to Kevin to see what's wrong with the A/C. Go to 24K

i see the locking pins but non standard radio and front rubber looks like its taken a few hits below the air dam .. at that price i would expect all the rubber to be brand new ..

Im about 5 minutes from that place. Its in a strip of warehouses behind a KFC and a Shell gas station off Linton. When I owned a 911 I went there to see his cars from time to time.

Let me know, I will drive by and tell you what a non-experts opinion is.
