Default Is the Fabspeed sport race catalytic converter a good replacement for a bad....

aftermarket cat on my 1988 Carrera? This is a California car. The price on Pelican is comparable to the other new aftermarket version.

Is the sound much louder than the original? I am not too wild about increasing the volume. My hearing is already deteriorating.

Thanks.

Buy the MK Euro Pre muffler instead ... it has the bung for the O2 sensor that picks up both cylinder banks as the Fabspeed only picks up one side.

I have the Fabspeed muffler but went with the MK pre muffler after much research on Pelican ...
It does not change the sound but it will allow your engine to breathe a little better as well as being a really nice looking piece.
May i also suggest a Steve Wong chip to go with a MK premuffler ?
Have the setup on my car for the past three years and it's great

Not sure about your smog laws,it seems like you guys have to have your cars tested yearly ?

Cheers !
Phil
