What about some of the seats offered by TRE? I've been drooling over several of them:

Anyone know of a 20lb adjustable seat out there reasonably priced?
Look at what I suggested...

I can't find a Recaro lighter than 30 lbs unless you go with a racing shell...I'm down to 2630 with the stock seats presently and am just beginning the strip.

I thought my Seeds weighed 25. I'll try and get my one out and weigh this weekend.

Thanks Ed. I've been looking at a lot of seats and basically they run just under or at 30 lbs for the lightweight ones (adjustable/recline w good lumbar etc) but that is also without the bottom mount.
My stock weigh about 34 lbs with mount, are very comfortable-good fit so I'd only be saving a lb or two and that would be an expensive lb or two.

Those would look right in a long hood 911 but a bit off for a later SC model.

well got lucky. I looked on the local Craigslist and a gent had some older Recaro's for sale. I picked them up today...I don't know the model number but they bolted right into the SC, came out of an '84 Turbo that has no mileage at all...looks like new...as do the seats ...they are virtually new...I was amazed when I saw them.....nice to get lucky, nice price too and the seller was a great Porsche guy

so a tad more weight gone and the seats are excellent

Honestly I did...I really low balled the guy on his ask price and figured no way...he called today, I think because I could pick them up and save him the hassle of boxing/shipping...really a great guy too, spent an hour talking cars and looking at his '84 Turbo wide body...it is 'as new' with under 50K on it..unreal...he bought it from a neighbor that was afraid of the car...I guess the original owner spun it coming out of the grocery store parking lot as he wasn't a tuned in P driver....got off it rather than going with it and rarely drove it...it lived in his AC'd garage..

.....and I want to know more about your rear bumper. The bumperette delete idea is really growing on me.

Just pulled off the huge lumps...since I'm stripping the car originality is no longer an issue. When I pulled them off the paint had degraded on one side badly, looks like the lump had actually taken a low mph hit and that removed the paint. So I just rattle canned it with flat black enamel (after sanding prep etc).
I have plastic plugs for the holes and ordered a small LED light to attach to the tag. I'll post a pic some time today.

Here you go, no great shakes but it'll do, I like it much better than the lumps...if your paint is good just polish it out/buff it up.
Ace hardware has the correct size plastic plugs, snap right in.
