My battery is totally dead!! Even attempts to jump start get one crank then nothing. Could I push start this car or do I need some juice in the battery?(told you I was a newbie!!) Also, it's getting to be time for a valve job. Should I go ahead and get the valve job or live with the smoke a little longer and save up for a rebuild? Thanks

Push start it, get the battery charged and while it is in the shop get the valves adjusted ASAP.

Valve adjustments will run you $300-500, if you wait, new heads (or worse) can run thousands. no one wants to see a smoke Porsche, unless it is comming from the tires.

this is a person w/ a deep-seated problem (or a fouled sense of humor or self-importance?) having nothing to do w/ Porsches, Corvettes or even cars. some disturbed people project their own problems onto inanimate objects or even categories of people ("racists" are an example). there is always noise, slag, & dregs at the bottom... non-response is the best response.

If your contribution is limited to bullying other people who are seeking a solution to a problem, then I for one, would like you to remain silent. I think that it would be safe to assume that most other participants in this forum share my sentiments on this issue.
