I love my new '84 Carrera. But I HATE the buzzer that comes on in a pathetic, quavering, annoying insect voice whenever I start the car or open the door. Can anyone tell me how to kill the thing? I just want to hear the engine, like a proper @#(&*$ sportscar.

On most Porsches, there's a relay for it that you can just pull out. Should be in your owners manual, as well as shop manuals.

I got mine by pulling out the oil pressure/temp gauage and reaching in the hole and feeling around until I could feel the relay that was buzzing and just pulled it.

Easy as could be...
