Brakes.....but while I'm there....

Got the good helmet, used it at Roebling Road earlier this month, in my Acura RSX Type-S.
Did the brake fluid flush, yep. Started with the Motive Power Bleeder, which has a leak in the gauge, btw , and finished with the GF in the driver's seat, in 104* heat. She loved that. The brakes are good, though.
The reason I asked about the aero aids is we did reach speeds in excess of 115 mph, and I'm wondering how stable this 911 will feel at that speed. The po-po around here are not real understanding of road testing.

Oh wait, ,,,, did I read that wrong?

Yes, I think you read that wrong.
Even I, with my truly legendary sex appeal, would have had a hard time getting her to agree to ANYTHING more than pumping the brake pedal in the leather seat of a Carrera with no A/C in these temps. For even that, I had to promise to install a bathroom light/fan fixture on the 4th.
Ain't no free lunch these days.

God, I love this car.
Today was the 1st day since I have had it where I had the day off to do exactly what I pleased, and the Porsche was on 4 wheels instead of on jackstands.
So, after washing off the dust and cleaning the windows with Rain-X, I hit the road, just me, my golf clubs, and my Porsche. Which, I think, now needs a name. Hmmmmmmm.
First stop was Forest Hills. Too hot to walk and play, so I hit ***** on the range for a couple of hours. Best thing about that was the cigar. #### golf. Damn clubs are even too long now to fit in the frunk.
Then, back in the now A/C deleted Porsche. Yeah. No A/C in Georgia in July. Not my most brilliant moment. But, it didn't work worth a crap, and if you go fast enough, the sweat blows into the back seat.
25 miles to GF's house, most of it twisty 2 lane blacktop. Forgot to bring the Escort.
Getting out of town was aggravating. Where do these people get their driving licenses? Cutting across 3 lanes to make that turn into the Circle K? Go right ahead, no problem, I just did my brakes, and I can stop on a dime and give you change. Weave back and forth before making a U-ey? What you talking about! I can slip on by while you're redialing the number for the pizza place. Skanky broads on the pillion seats of Harleys driven by biker dudes flipping their butts (cigarette butts, not the other) every which way? I'll lay back until ya'll fart your way down the road.
But once I was past the city limits and I could press the pedal down..........oh, baby, listen to that sweet sound. (Except for the annoying as hell intermittent rattle coming from God knows where.)
The power this thing has in 4th and 5th is amazing for a car this old. Even though the suspension is far from fully sorted and the front is sitting an inch too high and the tires are old (but balanced) this thing takes the corners like it's on rails. At 90 mph it wobbled a little when a crosswind hit it, but not bad. I ran out of straight road about then, and there were po-po about, so I went the rest of the way at 70. Temp gauge never got above midway, whatever that is.
Got to GF's house, where I found that the bathroom fan/light she bought was for a 12" hole. The fixture currently in her bathroom has a 8" hole. Go figure. So I pulled the old unit down, checked Amazon for a new fan motor, and they have one for $22. Should be here by Friday. She can take the unused fan/light back to Lowes and save $120, and buy me lunch.
She doesn't want to take the Porsche to lunch. Too hot.
A few minutes later we're motoring along the 10 miles to the nearest open restuarant (she lives in the boonies), in the Porsche. Lunch was decent, and she paid, even better. So I tell her she gets to drive home.
She's decent with a stick shift, but she has some neuropathy in her feet, so the shifts weren't exactly smooth. She stalled in on 1st moveout attempt, but after that she did OK. Even with the WEVO shifter, you know what these old transmissions are like. Once she got to where she could get it in 4th and just go, she was enthralled. Then I made her shift to 5th and give it some go juice. She hit 70 on this little backwoods 2 lane blacktop and said it handled great and rode better than her Accord. But she did miss the A/C.
I wish every day was this good.

The cruise control stuff is for sale if you want it. I have carefully saved everything. I have no idea if it works, though. Make me an offer.

If you push the inner bellows in, and it holds with your thumb over the connection, then it should be good and airtight. I have no idea what the stuff is worth, but with a good brain, it might be worth some real dough.
