You all need to consider Threshold Braking exercises to ensure you get most out of your brakes.
Fundementally, ABS allows you to Threshold Brake with no skill. If you do not have ABS, you need to learn how to modulate your brakes so you are just shy of locking them up. How does one do this?
Easy.
1-Find a long, empty straight run of road;
2-Accelerate to about 40-50 mph;
3-Hit the brakes as hard as you can with out locking them up;
4-Observe your stoppping distance;
5-Repeat until you have consistenly stopped inthe shortest possible distance.
Typically, 8-10 reps will get you there.
