Default Does anyone know this car?

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/ctd/2988722426.html

I just can't take my eyes off this one for a few days now! I know it's bad for business to like it too much.
I came over from the 996TT forum,as I own one.
I was thinking it would be fun to have a 911 too.
What attracts me on this one is the wide body. I think it looks awesome!
I can fix the driver seat for 300-400$.
I just know nothing about the 911's. I do know about PPI and all that and I've been reading around a lot on this forum about common problems. Some of them are scary about it dumping oil etc. You guys are funny actually.
What should I know about these cars before I actually go ahead with a PPI?
Thanks.

Well I am not sure what you mean about " dumping oil" but there used to be a sticky by Pete Zimmermann at the top of our forum. Check that out if it is still there . it will give you enough to know what questions to ask. be carefull though , these cars can be VERY expensive to restore if your not handy .. but a lot of fun to do if you are ...

Oh boy.
Lol!
Yeah...I saw the V6 engine. That dealer has no idea what he's selling.
That's why I posted it here, because you guys know a good example of these cars. From the pictures I thought the wide body looks good. I guess I was wrong...

Thanks Ice!
Cool nickname BTW!
I knew there has to be a thread about things to look for in these cars,I just haven't found it yet. I guess I'll have to keep looking...
The car dumping oil and running rough was more like a joke coming from a thread I read here about people not knowing if they're on the right forum...' if your car is dumping oil and this and that...then you're on the right forum'...sort of thing.

I can't say I'm really handy so I can fix it myself all the time, but I can learn pretty quick.
Do you guys know of a good wide body example around 15K?
Thanks.

The first thing you need to do is STOP shopping for a 911, and READ Peter Zimmerman's "The Used 911 Story". It is foolish to start shopping for a potentially very expensive car without educating yourself about them first.

You know I would argue agaisnt that I've seen alot of really nice well done gt racing panels, they key is if it was done right or wrong. Which a PPI will sort.

Hell my cars not a factory turbo car, its a gt racing paneled car, just really well done by the previous owner.

Having said that though that car def. looks boy racered, and a good PPI will sort out if the owner was a good mechanic or a bad one haha

I agree!
Any source of information is good for me.
I've been looking at quite a few of the 911's and 964's but something was wrong and didn't even get to the PPI.
