I have a complete kit of hoses from len / boxster gt in my garage for my 89 Carrera. I have had these since last summer and I am positive the car is on borrowed time with 30 year old hoses So soon as my new fuel pump arrives next week this is happening. I'm also going to replace the in tank I strainer too for good measure.

The quality if lens work looks awesome and these will be able to handle ethanol to avoid the 911bq.

I have recently acquired a 1989 Carrera Coupe with 92,000 miles. I will make a proper introduction in a few weeks once I get some decent pictures and such.

I have been communicating with Len and he is making me a complete set of hoses from the fuel tank to the intake. I'd love to hear from others for any "while I am in there" items. I plan to drive the car 5000 miles per year or so and prefer as a philosophy to spend the money while doing repairs to reasonably address preventable items. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

remove - inspect tank - then clean or just replace with new

I just picked my car up yesterday from having every line replaced including the low pressure lines with Lens stuff. The shop dropped the engine which I was not interested in doing at the house. We also replaced the in tank strainer and the fuel pump along with the inline filter. By the way the original Porsche pump I ordered was clearly a Bosch pump they stuffed into a Porsche labelled box. Even included the Bosch instruction manual for the 150% mark up over Bosch! I did an engine out service 2 years ago and should have done the lines then but I'm very pleased this is over.

I had one line leak last year and I think anyone who does spot fixes on 30 year old lines is dangerously kicking the can to down the road.

My "while you're in there" journey this time was shipping the entire suspension to elephant for a complete strip and rebuild with slightly bigger torsion bars. Picking up the car from the alignment shop today.

I had same problem and had a hydraulic shop to re-crimp new hoses quite cheaply. This is a serious problem and one should check if the hose turns in the pipe ends, if so they should be replaced / repaired A.S.A.P.

Thanks a lot guys. I am on it and will do a full, complete job. The idea of the car going up in flames is just not worth the risk of avoiding this. Even if it is preventative. The rubber will fail.
