Finally bought one!
Like many out there, I have been an admirer of the Porsche 911 for a long time. Finally, the right set of circumstances presented itself and I became able to buy one. I spent the winter getting educated, spent some time driving cars, and picked up a 1987 Carrera this week. All in all, having a blast getting to know the car!
Props to Noah Loren of Lift Throttle Automotive in Waltham, MA for helping to get me educated on the car, pointing me in various directions for further education, providing test drives of various models, and finally for locating and selling my new (25 year old) car!

I tried to post a picture, but for some reason was unable to do so.... Picture a 1987 Arctic White Carrera with factory front/rear spoilers. Or if someone tells me what I need to do to post a picture ...

Click on "Go Advanced", then click on "Manage Attachments". A window will open. Click on "Browse" and then click on the file where you keep your photos (mine are in "My pictures"). Click on a particular picture, click on "Open", then click on "Upload" when the original "manage attach" window re-opens. Good luck, and welcome!

Thanks, Peter. Your book was the most helpful of the ones that I purchased. I bought it in the fall, then misplaced it so I purchased a second copy... The information in the book combined with the advice that Noah gave me gave me the confidence to go ahead with the purchase. I tried to load the picture following your directions and I got another 'upload failed' message. Curious. I have used vBulletin on other forums without this problem -- maybe as Brett says I need to post a few more times to get this 'permission'. At any rate I tried to load a picture of the car as my avatar -- we'll see if that works!
