Default Brand New (Old!) Blaupunkt Monterey

So I've had this for a year and finally installed it...took out the Alpine head unit I never listened to and presto, it's 1986 again!

I love originality in old cars. Just feels good to look at it. Now all I have to do is dig out a couple Phil Collins cassettes and I'm good to go. Or maybe Stevie Nicks...

Looks great, I also plan to re-install mine as well but I can't find connectors for the rear of the radio. I purchased some 2 pin DIN connectors from a member on another forum, but only one of them is the right connector so I still need to find one more. How did you connect your speakers?

Looks great. A new digi blue flashy stereo looks out of place in these cars.

Love it Ray. It adds a nice touch of originality to the interior for sure. Nice to hear from you.

That's the way I roll, mine has never left! Do yourself a favor and go to Radio Shack to buy the casette that you can plug into you smart phone!

That's how I am using mine except my mp3 player is in my GPS. By taking my ash tray out, my Garmin GPS fits perfectly.

My Monterey is removed from my dash and was bagged, sealed and is being stored gently in a safe place. These old girls are going to bring some money sooner rather than later as the 3.2 Carreras start to push into the collector car arena...

You can get a nice, brand new period correct Dearborn here:

I checked with SW Stereo a few years ago to get my Monterey back up to snuff, but he stated that the micro switches and other small parts are just made of unobtainium and my Monterey could not be rebuild... So, I guess we have to wait awhile until they get even older and maybe someone will start making parts again...
