Guys - I am really digging the colour of this RSR Rep - does anyone have any thoughts on what actual colour/shade it is???...looks too light and flat to be Slate Grey............and what diameter do we think those Fuchs rims are??? Thanks!

The decal on the rear says "Carrera RS", but you're calling it an RSR....was there such a thing as a widebody RS?

Yeah in '73 to homologate the wider arches and 2.8 engine for the race cars they released a number of road going 2.8 RSR cars such as this (as opposed to the 2.7 "regular" RS)

I am not a RS expert but I never heard anything about a run of wide body RS's with a 2.8 engine. The 2.8 was a race only engine and differed greatly from 2.7's.

My point is, if it's an RSR then the decal should say "Carrera RSR", not "Carrera RS". This doesn't look right to me.

The "RSR" was the race version of the "RS" - but they were all badged as RS models - though they had the very different 2.8 engine and wider arches etc....they were sold to privateers.....I guess they were the sort of "cup car" of their day....

i've looked at lots and never seen any with anything other than RS decals...

I've seen another car in a similar tone of grey,it was refered to as "battleship grey " by the person who posted, although this one is a really nice example whatever the tone may be

Cheers !

The RSR decal didn't appear until 1974.

The 1993 2.8 RSR's, at least the ones I saw that were delivered through Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, had the "Carrera RS" decal. These were dedicated race cars, not street legal. It is possible that someone with serious connections was able to have a streetable '73 RSR built via the Sonderwunch program.

The 1974 vented fender/whale tail versions that they delivered had the "Carrera RSR" decal in the lower right area of the engine lid. Most of these decals seem to have been removed when the car was race prepped/painted/lettered.

The guy asked a question about the car's color, and all that's been discussed is what model it really is?

Hard to tell without comparing same lighting/angles etc....but could be similar to the one in this PIC.

Nonetheless....its STUNNING. The rims can't be any bigger than 16, the current wheel profile is too wide.

Wheels look to be 9 & 11 x 15.

Due to the variation of lighting, camera, and computer monitor it is very hard to tell, but it could be slate gray.

That is a gorgeous color, whatever it is. The rims look just like the Fuchs 15" x 9s and 11s on the '76 930/DP/935 thing I dragged home last week. Mine are minty green lol.
