Of course I have to find a Targa in BFE. Show Low, Arizona to be exact. Where is the closest P-car Mechanic? Flagstaff? Thanks.

Show Low is a long way from anywhere. Perahps see if there is a P car mechanic already in Show Low. He would probably also work on older Mercedes and BMWs. The owner may be hesitant to have his car towed or driven to Flag for a PPI.

Also, if you're not familiar, Show Low is at 6000 feet, they get a lot of snow up there. Have the car closely checked for rust.

Thanks for the heads up. Might have to talk the owner into a road trip to Flagtown!

Contact the local PCA president out there. Maybe he can point you in a direction.

If Burke Franke is still running a shop in Flagstaff, I'd use him. If the journey takes you to Phoenix, DJ @ Don Jackson. (Big thanks to DJ and John for letting me use my old lift when I was in town a couple of weeks ago to put the "quiet" exhaust on Ed's old car so I could make sound at that AMP event.)

Is it available to the public for viewing? sorry to hijack thread

Back on topic - being familar with the area my guess is you will need to get the car to Phoenix for a proper PPI.

I do not think it is open to the piblic, but many of the cars do come out to play at vintage meetings. I think 4 or 5 were at Rennsport.

I don't think Burke is wrenching on cars in flag anymore. There is a guy on route 66 that had a nice shop that worked on german stuff and had a nice early 911 many years ago don't know if he still around, I could find out. Northern AZ has used cinders primarily for snow and ice, recently they are using some chemicals as well but I doubt anyone is driving a nice 911 in the winter anymore.

Thanks to all. The shister attorney representing the owner who would not take a deposit and said since I was the first to call would only deal with me sold it to someone else (for $500 less), of course! 2nd one in a week to do that! Whatever happened to people's word?
