Just my experience is twice two different mechanics tried to change my shocks without asking me first, once they added two first on the drivers side, I have no mount on my SC on the passenger side. It sprung my hinge on that side and again not to long ago with a stronger one I believe and the same thing happened and I am just now getting my engine deck lid massaged back in shape and fit right. Just my two cents worth and experience.

I personally like the hockey stick approach, I cut a stick of wood that fits at the exact height I need for my car and the price was right.

I just officially joined this sight and still trying to download pictures of my 83 SC hopefully I can make that happen soon

Hey Dave read your PM. Thats a great story and you should post it up with your pics as it resembles a lot of stories here and embodies why we exist.
to atach a pic just do new post and scroll down to where it says manage atachments, then browse and find your pic.

keep in mind you dont want pics to be massive . jpg works fine and there are lots of programs to reduce sice ( irfanview freeware is mine ) .

I have a one heavy duty shock on mine but i have the lighter Carrera tail so no issues .. the stick is long gone ( the story on that is stuff of legend these days ) but i do still keep the avatar and it is a sign of spring as the Avatar goes up as the car rolls out ..

hey for those who added the second strut to the drivers side. did you go outboard of the original or inboard ?
my one strut is already hitting the heater hose and wearing it out.

You know what's funny, I JUST bought the Ultimate Strut last week for my whale tale. Turns out, they make a reinforced version that's only $5 more that will definetly hold up a whale tale/ tea tray. For $45, you can't beat it.

i happen to have 2 regular ones. and both just barely keep it up alone. so i figure i could put both on for no money.
