Have an approximately 5" round hole in the rear engine bay just to the left of center ( as you face the engine bay ). Found this pic ( see arrow pointing to something - this is my hole ) which seems to have something there - can someone tell me what I'm missing? Thanks

 

I believe you normally have hot - air ducting through there which would feed from heat exchangers underneath the car.

Yeah I think that usually has tubing that leads into the hot air blower, is there an open hole at the blower too?

 

its where the smog ump used to be that is now removed . it used to run off the fan pulley and ran the pump which would force air down into the ehaust injector tubes for pollution control . I may have a pic to help clarify

 

Yeah Iceman - that looks like the culprit - definitely NOT adding that back - will fabricate a plate to close it up and happily avoid the weight/drag of the pump - Thanks Steve

 

yeah mine is gone too .. someone fabed a nice piece of sheet meatl on mine , tacked it it and spray painted it ..

BTW you should check to see if you still have your spider underneath ( the tubes ) and injectors. I cut up and removed all mine to clean up underneath. I think i did some kind of write up a few years ago if you do a search
