Value of a 84 3.2 Carrera silver/black sunroof coupe w/36k miles
I have a friend that is about to put up his 1984 silver exterior and black interior Carrera. The car appears to be stock with the exception of an alpine cassette deck and front and rear a/d/s speakers.
As far as I know there has been three owners. The original owner owned it until around 20k miles then sold it to the second owner that had it for about 10 years and sold it to my friend with about 27k miles. My friend has had it a year or two and now it has 36k miles.
The owner is not sure if he has the maintenance records for it but I am guessing he doesn't. The paint is not perfect as this car has spent much of its life out of a garage but it is in very good shape for a driver. The drivers seat bolster shows some wear. It has not had a 30k mile service yet so that is due.
What does the collective at rennlist think she is worth?
Code Option Description
018 Sport steering wheel with elevated hub
401 Light metal wheels
454 Automatic speed control
474 Sport shock absorbers (Bilsteins)
650 Sunroof

Unfortunately his ball park price he is thinking is beyond what I want to spend right now. I just told him I would help him sell it and am trying to get him what a realistic price is before I post it here, on pelican and in the PCA classifieds.

He is looking for some maintenance records for it but I am not sure what he will find. Carfax might be the only verification available. The current owner is still in contact with the second owner so he might be able to get more information.

Car looks and sounds great and a the Right shop for the PPI will most definitely be able to ballpark the mileage, by certain visual cues.

My shop does it all the time for customers. He is actually Jerry Seinfelds exclusive mechanic here in the metro area. Jerry also cycles his cars from the west coast out east and then has it serviced here. He only keep about "15" in LA, about 30 in a private parking garage in the city and balance in Hamptons! He even bought a Porsche tractor and had my mechanic service it! haha
