Info VIN porsche 935
Hello everybody,
I have two questions concerning the Porsche 935:
How many cars were built by Porsche?
Where is the vin identification inside the car?
THX

Is your question literally how many were built buy Porsche? Or does it include how many 934 were converted to 935's by the factory? Do you include Kremer K3's? There's an excellent book entitled "930 to 935 The Turbo Porsches" by John Starkey. Recently updated, including details on each chassis.

Hello
I have some vins on hand and it is a bit complicatet as the cars had a 911 vin at the beginning plus some cars where shiped to be finished by the Racing Teams.
I´m now to lazy to count them all trough and make undersections.
The Vins are normaly on the same spot like on any other 911 bodyshell.

I really feel you cannot go wrong buying Starkey's book. It is expensive, but very complete. There is also some great reading in there. It not only includes a great number of VIN numbers of 934/935 cars but also, whenever the information was possible, includes the history of the vehicle. Descriptions like who received the car, where it was raced and it's victories if applicable, and post sales. It even covers the 934's that were converted to 934.5 and 935. It is only expensive until you consider the research that John Starkey had to do. Of course, the factory would always have delivery information on chassis, but subsequent history is tough by that route alone.
Since I was 10 years old, I have always dreamnt of owning a 935. It was one of the biggest factors in drawing me to 911 ownership. If I am lucky, I will have one at some point. I can think of many worse investments. To me they are the ultimate Porsches, bar none. I would even take one over a GT1. Anyone who has ever seen and heard one flying by on an upshift or downshift with the wistles, pops and flames knows what I mean. There is virtually no better sounding 911.
