Post speedometer sticks on cold mornings

A little question:
My speedometer needs a tap with a fingernail on the glass once I'm driving for it to wake up most mornings. Maybe it needs a drop of oil or something. Can one get into the units? Any advice?

Dear James,
I have a similar problem with my speedo on my C4. Wet and cold and it sticks. Light tap and up she comes. No you cannot open them and lubricate. Really not worth it anyway. I have found a little additional heat before you drive off helps. Even cranking a fan up causing a vibration.
Just remember not to tap too hard,
