Christophorus Magazine Question - help needed.
Back in the mid- late 60's, my dad had a photo published in Christophorus Magazine. I'm looking to get a copy of the magazine with that picture.
I'm hoping that someone here might be familiar with the picture, have a collection of magazines that you could check, and maybe have a line on where I could purchase a copy.
Here's a few clues:
I think it was published sometime between Apr 1966 - late 68.
I think it's a 65 or 66 911 [serial number 303.543, purchased Nov '65]. It's a white coupe. [Porsche script on the rear deck + 911 in slanted text - bottom right]
It's a picture of the 911 in Death Valley next to a covered wagon. I think it's a black and white pic. And it's likely located in the rear of the magazine - reader submitted pics area.
Thanks in advance for any leads you can provide!

I think I found it.
Jerry Cumbus wrote an article about a 8000 mile drive in a 911L in #78, Dec 1968. There was a small picture that looked like it could be an old covered wagon which is why I thought maybe that was it. Otherwise I have them all expect two in the timeline you referenced, but couldn't find another.
I just remembered there was a special edition released in 1968, which includes this picture.
It's on page 55.
This is the cover of the issue.
Do you have a story that goes along with the picture? If you're willing to share I'd love to write about on AllePorsche.com.
There is one for sale on eBay, but the price is a bit high:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Porsche...ht_5431wt_1272
It looks like it's in better condition than mine, and I've bought from the seller before, so if you do go for it you'll get what they describe.
Let me know if I can help with anything else Christophorus related.
Best regards,
Ray

Christophorus Magazine
Ray,
Incredible. Thank you very much. Yes, this is the picture I'm thinking of. I remember the red cover of this edition.
Here's a few other pics taken during that trip to Death Valley and one at Tahoe that shows the license plate that appears to match the pic posted in the magazine. I'll pull together some notes and if there's interest, we can build out a story.
Many thanks. Rennlist is really an amazing forum supported by incredible people.
