Default Love that smell!

Love that raw engine, carbon, oil smell that the car gives off, even while it is sitting idle. It's like permanently in the fibers of the interior! It reminds me of my dirt bikes as a kid in the 70s and 80s. It's a real "motor" as they would say on Wheeler Dealers!

I sometimes go out to the garage and open the car door and S-M-E-L-L. It's intoxicating!

Yeah, love it too. When I washed the motor with a degreaser it smelled antiseptic for a bit but we're back to normal again. They drink oil and it oozes out their pores.

the smell is part of why I have not ripped the leather interior out of my DE / track car. I love the look and the SMELL. smell of conditioned leather mixed with all the other intoxicating VOC that are slowing killing me.

I have to agree. The inside of a classic 911 has its own individual smell. (leather and ???). Other cars that have leather interiors still don't smell the same as a Porsche. I didn't know how much I missed it untill my last 911 purchase. The first time I opened the door and sat in it, all the memories of all my other 911s came flooding back.

Especially when one opens the heat controls....a slight whiff of the Carboniferous historical Period permeates.....

Reading this makes me miss my '80 911SC Targa.

Haha, I love it and expcially the one about the 73' Targa!
Mike Brewer would actually say a "proper motor".
