Is cashmere the new "cork" color?
I can't help but think that my cashmere interior is a dead ringer for cork? Can anyone shed any light?

You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the cork interior pictured is vinyl. I know the following to be true for lobster, and I think cork is the same. The lobster interior in vinyl is variegated like the cork shown in the above pics, whereas lobster in leather is not variegated. It's a "clean" single shade of dyed leather.
Lobster in vinyl. This is my 911. Unfortunately the flash drowns out the variegated appearance a bit.
This is said to be lobster in leather (picture from a Pelican thread).
Just happened to come across this on Pelican, too. Says it's cork on a '77. Looks like a monotone shade and, I assume, must be leather.
This cork does look darker than the cashmere pics, but it's difficult to compare pics from different cameras with different settings in different lighting.

I agree that cork is more "orangey". I agree with Brett too in that every time I have seen cork vinyl, it has a mottled appearance. My car is cork leather. I re-dyed the leather, but it was unmottled to begin with...
