Post Help!

Ok..as you all probably know by now, I have no brake lights after a period of time when I could only get brake lights with heavy pedal pressure.

I bought the wrong switch (3 pole instead of 2); and now I'm told there are actually 2 brake light switches, one of which is at the far end of the master cylinder. I think I'll be able to get to the one I can see, but how is it possible to get to the second one without removing the whole damn thing?

So a few questions, please:

1. Are there in fact 2 brake light switches on the 3.2 master cylinder and will I have to replace both?

2. If there are 2, what is the best approach to getting to the far one?

3. Do the brakes need to be bled after replacing the switch? When I removed (and later re-inserted) the old one, some brake fluid leaked out of the hole. Is this cause for alarm?

4. Am I crazy for even trying this and should I just have paid the damn 85 bucks in the first place?

I thought by doing these little projects I could learn more about the car. But if I can't even manage this little repair...

Thanks guys.

1. Yes there are two switches.

2. To get at the back switch, you remove the front cardboard shield, and several of the vent hoses. Not difficult, just a bit tedious. Put a cloth under the master cylinder to catch the brake fluid that will drip out.

3. Yes, bleed your brakes.
