Default Water Egress into passenger footwell

Right Hand drive 1982 SC. After heavy rain or driving in the rain I find water entering into the passenger footwell. It appears to be coming in from under the dash somewhere but I can't find where.

Any ideas on where it might be orginating?

Many Thanks,
Stef.

Usually it is from the front windshield seal, coming in draining down the back of the dash and into the car. I kow a few guys who have successfully replaced this at home . With a buddy it is actually quite an easy project and i think it is even in the 101 projects book.
My guess is though if you have water coming in you might have corrosion in that area now. you want to get looked at first.

Also get an original OEM seal from Porsche if you can. This is the one area I would go original even if it was twice the price.

Check your drain hose from the fresh air vent in the trunk too.

I recently went through this issue. I checked the roof drains and the drain from the fresh air box, which is a large tube. All were OK. The solution was the windshield seal. No rust or other damage was found in the channel around the window so it was just the seal.

If you look at the lower corners of the windshield from the outside you may be able to see water between the dash and the windshield.

fixed mine with a finger swipe of silicone sealant over the glass and seal in the lower corners. used clear, cant even tell its there. just want to close up the space where the edge of the seal has moved away from the glass.
