1980 911 SC - Alternator Fan Housing Replacement

1980 911 SC - Alternator Fan Housing Replacement
I'm looking for some help trying to find the right replacement parts for my Alternator Fan Housing, and Voltage Regulator. I'm not looking to upgrade the parts at this time.
What I have:
VIN: 91 AO 14 0785
Alternator: S.E.V. Marchal A14V 60 70A 7123300 (last few digits broke off the dust cap)
Fan Housing: 901 106 101 5R
Voltage Regulator: S.E.V. Marchal 14v
According the Porsche Original Parts Catalogs I should have:
Alternator : 911 603 120 02
Fan Housing : 930 106 006 00
Voltage Regulator : 911 603 206 13

I already tried to replace the alternator with an upgrade to the 75A Paris Rhone with a new 11 blade fan to fit. I was aware that some modifications would have to be made to the fan hub extension to fit the now on-board voltage regulator, as well as some changes to the lights in the dash. But I noticed right away that the new alternator was to small for the old Fan Housing and the fan seemed to be too big. I need to replace the housing any way as 2 of the 4 central supports are cracked almost completely. So I looked up the number I found on the fan housing (901 106 101 5R) and discovered that the part number for a 1968 911 Fan housing matched (901 106 101 03) leading me to believe that something might be amiss. I now have the old alternator refurbished and I just need to replace the housing and voltage regulator to keep the4 year warranty I got on the refurbished alternator.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey ivangene, thanks for the reply. I'm not sure classifieds of any kind will help me figure out what part I need. I've already looked for replacement parts that I thought were the right ones... I got them then found out they would not fit, with out excessive modification, and many more new parts. I'm trying to avoid just randomly buying parts testing and sending them back.
It would seem as though there are unique diameters of Fan Housings between different years. That is if the 75A Paris Rhone Alternator was in fact supposed to fit with out modification of the Fan Housing.

Not sure if it will help, but here's a post from PP that talked about some of the requirements: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...sembly-fs.html

Arctic1 Thanks! Yeah that helps with the Fan Housing.
According to the chart:
Casting number (901 106 101 5R) / Alternator Amps (70a) /shroud depth (95mm/3.74in)
places it as a part from a 1975-77 911.
I found on the Fan a marking 35/79 (I'm guessing that is the date March 5th 1979) So my fan looks to be from the right time.

Zinge - no problem.
Unfortunately after reading the table it might confuse my work a tad. Alternator packed it in on a recent cross-Canada trip.
As far as I know my 1980 911SC is original, yet the casting number appears to be from a 1975 - 77 turbo. Engine is original to car, so not sure what I am going to need when I disassemble this weekend.

Just re-read this post as I am trying to ID my alternator - in trying to find a spare or a replacement. First step tho will be to send it off to the shop to see if they can do a rebuild.
From what I can tell, we have the same fan shround and alternator number - altho the dust cap is rather smashed so guessing at that. The dust cap also had 36 79 which am guessing means manufactured in 36th week of 1979.. My fan tho is 47 / 79, which if memory serves proper indicates the 47th week of 1979. Makes a bit of sense as my car was finished in January 1980.
May be looking for a replacement if rebuild is not an option.
