Which of these two would you consider and why

Buy that white 944 Turbo in the background! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Seriously though, I'm leaning towards the Turbo-look myself... there's just something about those wide fenders that gets the blood boiling!

Both look good, I don't think you can go wrong either way. If the red one is the one you really want then why not just get that one? But as you've asked for opinions, I'll give you mine. All things being equal I would choose the diamond blue--It's a lot classier.

I couldn't help but notice that both cars are on Ebay. How are you handling PPIs? Did you request leakdown & compression tests or just visual & a drive test?
The prices on Ebay are favorable but . . .
Both cars look great. I can understand your decision problems.

Why does the blue one have the turbo tail in place of the Carrera tail or was that as delivered on the anniversary edition? I don't think there is anything poser about a factory turbo look or an aftermarket done right. Some of us want the bigger brakes, more aggressive suspension, and room for wider wheels with out the turbo fuss-factor.

It's just a personal thing - If I am going to buy a Turbo looking car - It'll have the turbo in it to back it up. Again, it just my preference and Doug H asked for opinions. I know many that swear by the turbo look - just not for me.

The 1988 Carrera Anniversary Edition auction ended yesterday without a buyer:

My $.02...
If you're going by color alone, I'd vote for the silver/blue one. (personal preference, mind you) But the Turbo Look will give you better brakes and handling, so it's tough to argue against it. I also don't think the silver/blue one is worth as much as the Turbo Look...condition being equal.

For PPIs:
I just called Porsche dealerships close to the dealers and arranged for inspections. I am just charging the inspections to my credit cards.
The red one passed inspection and the blue one is being inspected as we speak. I love turbo look, but I am leaning to the blue as it seems classier looking to me. Turbo look has lower miles. Tough decision.

Doug:
Get whichever one YOU like. Personally, I like the Diamond Blue, but have the same question as Alan. Why does it have a Turbo Tail? I would think that it if it came with facotry front and rear spoilers, it should have a Carrera Tail. Be sure to ask the owner about that.
Either way, be sure to let us all know which one you take home.

Thanks for all the feedback. It is certainly a tough decision. I am flwying up tonight to get the Blue one and driving it back tomorrow. I am taking my 6 year old daughter. The drive will be back through DC, Virginia all the way back to Memphis. 1034 miles, but it will be neat experience to do with my youngest daughter.
