Question 930 engine case differences to 964?

What are the differences? Thinking of building a 3.6l engine but from a 930 (3.0l, 3.2, 930) case. Are there any differences to prevent this engine case being fitted with a 964 crank, rods and everything else?? TIA

You need to call Steve Weiner to discuss this. He'd steer you to proper combos of crank, rods and bore.
Rennsport Systems, he posts here a bit.

OK, thanks. I was planning on using all 964 stuff so nothing out of the ordinary. I just need to know if a 930 part number case will work with all other 964 parts.

Although the cylinder spacing is identical on all Porsche flat 6 engines (aircooled and water cooled), I believe (not 100% certain) that the stud bolt spacing for the cylinders and heads are different on the M64 casings used on the 964, 993 and early GT3's. In that case, the cylinders/heads will not fit a 930 case. However, you can fit 102mm bore cylinders (LN ENgineering) if you machine the case, and possible stroke the crank from 74.4mm to 76.4mm like the M64 engines. In that case you will get 3,746 cm3 like the Carrera RS engines.
