Default 73 1/2 CIS fuel injectors same as 1974?

My 73 1/2 911 Targa (CIS) project is grinding very slowly emerging from its cardboard box coffins. However the fuel injectors are nowhere to be found. Pelican has 73 1/2 injectors for $93 apiece. Are there any more economical solutions from another supplier? For instance, Pelican also has 1974 injectors for only $35. Is there a difference between the two?

I do not know for sure but I think they are different. For the 73.5, the injectors go through a boss on the heads. Starting in 74 they moved the boss to the intake runners. I suspect the 73.5 injectors are shorter.

You will learn that almost everything fuel related on the 73.5 is different from 74 and later. Just grin and bear it. Ask Jay Laifman, he is active on this board and is well versed in this subject.
