What price
I have a friend who has her father's 1980 911 Targa and she needs to sell it. It hasn't been on the road for about 10 years but it's been in a dry garage, started and moved occasionally. The interior is not perfect, only some wear on the drivers seat. It's black on black and has about 75,00 miles showing on the odometer What's a price range that she could expect to ask as a starting point for this car? Any opinions or ideas would be appreciated. I've seen some on Ebay and such but they are running and inspected and on the road etc etc etc. The car appears to be in good shape but it needs to get running and on the road. She unfortunately doesn't have the cash to do alot to it. Give me an idea of where to start. Thanks Thanks thanks......
I'll give her $2K. seriously...sight unseen.
This is a hard question because there is so little info. Pictures would help and without more, I would assume it needs everything.
If it can be driven, I would be willing to say 6K-8K as a hiigh number. Most people looking for these cars are very discriminating and educated. It will not command market value without some level of restoration.

I'll try and get some pics and add them here if I can figure out how....The car really isn't bad...no rust, paint is good, interior fair, not that bad...I'll see what I can get with pics.
The real issue here is that the car hasn't been on the road for ten years ...
Black on black,if original is a good point but the car will need a lot of TLC before it can become
an everyday vehicle again,thus a lot of $$$ !
Cheers !

To me, the older and more 'stories', the more of a description/list is needed.
The big stuff - brakes, engine internals, seals - and basically every moving component on the car either needs an inspection or repair, with description included to inform buyers. I bought a car three years ago that had been in a museum for 10 years, required MAJOR work to be roadworthy.
The range on your car could be 5grand to 12grand, but needs lots of poking around to give someone confidence in the numbers. Just an opinion.

My Wong chip was closer to $600, but he spent a bit of time on it.
