Default McQueen's 911

Any guesses on what it will sell for this weekend? I am thinking around $1MM.

So weird...it's just a guy's car, a guy who's dead! I don't understand this kind of thing at all.

Headlands, Its because it is rare, driven, and owned by the famous Steve McQueen. Think if Porsche Art cars went up for sale how much they would be because they are rare.

Well truth be told Steve did not own that car, he drove it in at the start of movie Leman's. One like it in the world, someone wanted car enough to write a large check.

I hear ya -- to me that doesn't mean enough to want to pay any more than I would for a regular 911 owned by the guy down the street. But I'm jaded that way because I worked with lots of movie stars in the past and they don't phase me any more.

I'm with you Headlands. I see value in the achievments of the cars, not their previous owners. This, to me, is the difference between the race winning, cooncours winning prototype Testa Rossa that sold for $16M and the McQueen 911. I'd rather have the 911, but not because of who owned it.
