Default Swap my 3.3 turbo for a 3.2?

Time is slipping by and I'm losing confidence in my ability to learn how to manage the CIS on my '87 turbo engine.

Since I already have a nice BAE turbo kit, it's been suggested that I simply use a running 3.2 engine with EFI instead.

Thoughts?

My 3.3 has been sitting and as I'm installing it I'm reminded that I never really understood the CIS in my 2.7.

I bought a complete 930 engine with no known problems. However, from my experience with CIS I don't feel confident that I will be able to diagnose any future problems or do much tuning other than twisting the mixture occasionally.

My mechanic advised me to get a complete 3.2, and I now agree.

Someone should probably want to trade a complete running 3.2 for a complete 3.3 turbo engine that has been sitting, right?

I'll keep using my '77 911s chassis.

Why not use the 3.3 Turbo Engne with a 3.2 manifold, wiring harness (with ECU), injectors, and throttle body?

Good idea. Wonder if I can swap the turbo 3.3 CIS, 3 stock intercoolers, scavenger oil pump, and exhaust with turbo for a 3.2 EFI setup?

I have a 3.2 that I am about to rebuild in my '86.

Let me know if you are still contemplating a trade.

Want to swap my turbo, CIS, 2 stock intercoolers, scavenger oil pump, and exhaust with turbo for your 3.2 EFI setup with ECU?

Seems like you'd be pressed to try and get power out of the 3.3 without forced induction.

You've been sitting on the BAE kit for 5 years??? You and I work at about the same pace.

Yep. 2nd try after it instantly blew up my 2.7. Going with forged pistons this time.
