Ha! Danny Sweeney knocked out my front teeth with a high stick playing roller hockey in Shoreham in the summer of 1975. He felt bad about it. What makes the evening really memorable though was that my friends aunt drove me back to the house we were staying at in her 914. Never saw this movie though.

This is a must have, especially for SC, 930 Turbo and 3.2 Carrera guys. Movie is all about them, that's what the chop shop ring steals and only steals. One great quote was when Sweeney asked Sheen about boosting a Ferrari on Rodeo drive. Sheen said "naaa Italian trash"! Even though I do not consider Ferraris trash and far from it, it's a great pro Porsche quote non the less!

Probably should watch it again. Lived it the first time around, what with owning my shop (though in Phoenix) and any number of 911 "parts of mysterious origin" being peddled around No and So CA/AZ.
Basically anything that didn't have a serial number was available. Cheap. Need 9X16's? $100/ea. Whole 930 engine, less the crankcase? $2K. Etc. Etc. Etc. Then it all kinda died out in the mid-'90s.

I think that movie is what got me to want a silver blue 911.
That, and the 930 on the back cover of Paul Frere's "911 Story". I didn't know D. stood for "Danny".
I can't read those tweets. The "@" thing throws me. I ignore any writing with habitually bad punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc.

Great movie. Except for the car chase where the silver turbo can't seem to outrun a late seventies T-bird or whatever it is. Bugs me every time I see that part.
All in all a fine display of Porsche. I don't even notice the bad acting, though it seems that Sheen has replaced 'Punch it!' with 'Winning.'
