Unhappy My baby is in the shop : - (

She just went in to get that "rust bubbles around windshield thing" fixed. I decided to get the glass and rubber replaced at the same time (original one is heavily pitted). I just get nervous when someone (who isn't me) is messin with my baby. The guy is reputable and I have seen his work, but I'm going away for a week and won't see the results until the 9th of June. Thank god for Dalwhinnie 15 yr old single malt.

Question

Why is your car getting rust? Isn't that very unusual for a newer 911?

It is actually very common to get the spots around the base of the windshield if the glass has been replaced. The previous owner had the windshield replaced by a butcher and now there are 2 spots about 2" long and 1/4" wide right where the rubber meets the metal. It is solid and hasn't gotten worse in the last 1 3/4 yrs. It has been there since I purchased the car and now I want it fixed before it becomes something.

Don't worry. In the worst case scenario, they sell the metal replacement piece for the corner at Performance Products and Tweeks.
