Just replaced the weatherstip above the windshield frame. Got the right weatherstip from Dan at carsinc (great guy)
How much wind noise can I possibly expect to eliminate? Are Targas just inherently noisy?

Almost all Targas/Convertibles have some wind noise.
Depending on cross winds my Targa is not too noisy, I usuauly get more wind noise from the door mirrors.
Some seals were replaced about 8 years ago.
Only above 70 do I start to hear some wind noise coming from the top.

My Targa has no wind noise at all. The top is a rebuilt one from Carsinc and I have a new seal over the windshield and both sides at window tops. There is quite a bit of road and engine background noise over 60-70 MPH. I only put my top on if it is raining, and it doesn't do that much where I live!

The top on my '72 targa used to lift at the rear at highway speeds which made a really loud whistling noise. Pushing it further up used to kill the whistle but I was always worried that it was going to pop out leaving me with a huge repair/replacement bill.
I have a sunroof coupe now... no noise, no fear of losing the roof.

My car is quieter with the top off than with it on.
My guess is that top needs to be re-covered and also new front seal is in order... lots of noise from the front and I have been told from people behind me that top bubbles / raises up when driving at speeds over 60.
Another item on the endless repair / improve list...
