it looks like that they mount the sways on the wevo mount "unloaded" and use it for aligning and proper measurement when welding it in place.
You think that when Porsche beefed up the bar... they should of beefed up the mounts as well..... maybe you need to stop using slics.

Well,..after 2 beers, I've determined that the breakage is directly related to gonad size (how HARD you drive her),..as we know: some break and some don't.
As I do love to go very fast.........
All the above stated as, of course, a joke.
I headed out early this AM and waxed her (Canuba, that is)....couldn't help but post this final pic after my discovery of the broken sway bar mount.

nope,..but a boo-boo from touching that dreaded breakage,.....
MAN: that finger there has recorded a lot of music....I normally see it on the faders, not "damning" a Porsche..........

OH - I see....
I never truied the finger trick! - I thought you waxed it like that, i was going to tell you that you can wax it with the whole hand, not just the one finger

Sorry, I'd interpreted that the PO had the same issue. I thought this was multiple times for your car. There are many instances of this, but I'd say more cars haven't had it. I wonder what the determining factor is.
You're not going to duplicate track conditions on the street, though. Maybe at the same or similar stress for short periods, but not the same as ten 20 minute sessions in a DE weekend in an advanced run group running at 9 or 10/10ths. Then do that 4-8 weekends a year for several years. I've flogged Ruby up Palomar Mtn in earnest, but I know I'm maybe at 7-8/10ths at the most intense.

Mine were replaced on my '86 with a street part that was a redesign ( to prevent the metal fatigue that takes out the originals).
About $250/side is about right.
Do them both at the same time, might save a little dough.

Ed,..have had her on the tracks before but not at the frequency you've seen it, so I understand what you mean by "duration"...She's seen 147 MPH on her top side and has handled some nice curves at my stressfull beckoning...
Glad to know your mounts (as have most others) have done fine...apparently, however, Porsche viewed it as some degree of a problem, having provided a mod for better strength...and in my case, it happened. The other side (AFAIC) is now considered suspect and will be handled (improved) at the same time as the failed one.

Well, I stand corrected. I didn't recall you mentioning any DE's or track time. I know I could stress a 911 at RA. Roebling Road looks like a fun little track too, but I don't think that is near Atlanta.

I think I did my first set on a G50 car in '89 or '90. I know I was back in Oakland, so the car had to have been a couple of years old. 100% street car at stock ride height that had never seen severe duty. Guy's wife was the primary driver. Blew me away. Not even sure if the updated version was out at that point.
It's not a tough fix--all you're doing is eradicating any trace of the original mount, then welding in the replacement in the exact same spot.
I'd go ahead and use the WEVO units. Never have installed them personally since I've been out of: 1. fixing 911s, and 2. torsion bar 911s of my own since Hayden introduced these things. But they, as with ALL of his products, are really neat.
(RennJeopardy question--know how the company was named WEVO?)

Sailboats back in his native Australia. Multihull, if I remember correctly. Not sure how he made the switch to cars, but check out development of an Allard sportsracer circa early '90s. When he dropped into the Bay Area and we started getting to know him..........whoa.
