Fuel Pump for Weber Conversion

Fuel Pump for Weber Conversion
I put Webers on my car over 10 years ago. I recently had them professionally restored and was going through everything to make the car tip top. When I checked the fuel pressure output of my current pump I only got 3 psi. Weak. That was upstream of the regulator. The perfect fuel pressure for Webers is supposed to be 3.56 psi.
So, is there a favorite pump folks are using to fuel their Weber carbs? I have a '75 with a modded 2.7 and IDA40s. Is there a fuel strainer/screen in the fuel tank I should be checking? Ive never opened the fuel tank up before.

Hi,
Since the original (and perfect) Bosch pumps are NLA, we use a Pierburg made specifically for carburetor applications. Its a single-ended pump so one may need to make some minor plumbing changes depending on each car.
There is a fuel filter installed at the bottom of the tank that should be replaced from time to time. Look for a large internal hex plug on the bottom of the tank and thats the brass base of the unit.

Thanks. Good info.
Anyone using a Carter pump? Fuel cooled and lubed and only about $80. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRT-P4070/

I ended up going with the Carter CRT-P4070 pump with the Holley two-port, 1-4 psi fuel pressure regulator, #12-804. I had a bit of an issue finding a place to install the pump and getting all the correct fittings to make it work. Its a lot bigger than the piece-o-crap Facet pump I had been using. I mounted it behind the left rear "seat" bucket (above rear axle). I bought from Summitracing.com and they had super fast shipping and a huge selection.
A Tip of the Hat to Paul Abbott at PerformanceOriented.com. He did a fantastic job restoring my Webers to like new condition. The car has never run better.
