Default Feeler:Thinking about selling '72 911E

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking about selling my '72 911E with 59k miles. White/Black, recaro racing seat, 15'' wheels, recent paint, was built as an auto-x car. Not exactly sure what it is worth. I want a newer 911 is the reason.

No clue what it's worth, but would love to see pictures! It has that cool oil fill door... that should bring its value up!

This car is white/black with an older recaro racing seat, cd player, recent paint, 15'' fuchs wheels, S front bumper, aftermarket sway bars. This car was built as an autocrosser and is still a 2.4l with MFI. The car runs great and has one small rust spot by the rear decklid approximately the size of a quarter.

I'm curious to see what other's say price is... I truly don't know. Being a 72, though, has to help.

that's a nice looking '72, oil filler door definitely a cool thing about the '72. I've been studying early cars a lot lately 25kish seems well within the ballpark. The recent paint should help as well, was it originally white? What about the motor and tranny, original/matching?

You do know that it's worth 3 times that, right? I would never sell that 72. Ever. Holy crap, does it have the "S" option package? Look at that spoiler. Might be 4 times.....

Had a '72 T and miss it every day. the '72 was not liked in its day as some owners put gas in the oil door even though it was clearly marked gas. . The engineering was great as the oil tank was more forward than any other 911 thus better balance. would like to see more pictures ( interior, engine and the rust spot) thanks

The front bumper is fiberglass. I just installed a Bursch exhaust, it sounds awesome. I have a factory Porsche MFI manual. I've included some photos.

The car sat for a long time and it was blue printed back in the late 80s. I have only had the car a few months and it has had all the bearings recently replaced. I have updated the oil sump to one with a drain plug, adjusted the valves(silicone valve cover gaskets), changed the fuel filter, installed a k&n air filter, replaced fuel lines, replaced the turn signal switch, installed a Momo Prototipo(have original wheel), installed a bursch exhaust, replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, and distributor cap. I have MFI tools as well.

Isn't this the one you bought for about $9K a little while back? Enjoy the profit...

FWIW, I would drive a few examples of the "newer 911" (whatever year/model you might want to own) to see if, well, it really is the one you would want to sell the "E" for.

The only high value longhoods are all original, rust-free examples, or S's. This one seems like it would be a good driver or autox car, but hardly a high value example. Low 20's at best, IMO.

Not a chance it's worth 75-100, maybe start at 35 and go from there, look at early911s registry. Heck, post up the same question, they will give you a good answer. Reality, for 75-100 you are into really, really nice early S cars, maybe not those over restored S cars that are listed as "better than new", but you would have a lot of options at that kind of money. For reference, I had called on this car a few months ago:
http://caporsche.net/images/carsfors...of/images.html
They were asking $85k, I can't see an unrestored E going for more, even with the S options.
