Post 4spd 915

I have a 76 euro 911 with a type 915 4spd trans.Is this the same trans that is in the
pre 5spd standard turbo cars(not 930,935 turbos)?

Hi Steve:

FYI,....there were 2 versions of 915; a 4-apeed and the more common 5-speed.

All of the Turbo cars sold by Porsche used the 930 4-speed gearbox. This is totally different transmission than the 915's. No Turbos, 75-88 were sold with a 5-speed. All of the factory Turbo 911-based race cars, 934 and 935, used the race version of the 930 transmission.

There is indeed a 915 4 spd for '76 it was 915/49gearing as follows;[list=1][*]11/35[*]20/32[*]25/27[*]28/23[/list=a]for comparison the 5spd version for 76 915/44 was geared as follow;;[list=1][*]11/35[*]18/33[*]23/29[*]26/26[*]28/23[/list=a]Neither of these should be confused with the turbo trans 930/30 or 930/32
