I like the idea, better than the current targa style.

I think RUF beat them to the punch.

I hope they do! It has basically just been a big sunroof since they did away with the old school Targa top with the 964 C2/4 series. Bring it back baby!

That would be awesome, I have never thought the 993/996/997 variants worthy of the Targa name.

First it was the Fuchs for the 997

Now they may be bringing back the old style Targa

Will they be going back to air-cooled next

This is the same website that reported a couple years back that Porsche was bringing back the 914. autoblog is the National Enquirer of the auto world.

I should have taken a pic of it, but while at Hershey this year, I saw a guy who converted his 997 to the old style targa. I have no idea how much that would cost to do, but he did it, and it actually looked really good. I'd be in favor of this.

I can't seem to find it now but I ran across an ad from an after market company converting 996 hard tops from the cabs into removable Targa tops. The pictures looked good, but the price was triple the cost of a used hard top. I emailed them about doing a Boxster hard top, but they weren't interested, probably due to the cost relative to the value of a used Boxster.
