Just came home after a busy day in the office ... that shot of your beauty made my day. Thank you. Gorgeous combo. Can't wait to see more pics in the coming days.

I pick it up tomorrow morning and will post many shots tomorrow evening I'm sure.
I will need to hold off on any big $ mods for a while and probably just do a few minor things. New Momo steering wheel, center caps and such. I do need to fix the passenger window switch (already have new one ready to go), and I'll do an oil change immediately.
thanks guys!

Hey Kurt -
That's a great question and one I'm sure I'll get many times. I loved my 993. It was my DD though. Had to part with since we were starting a family at the time. I picked up an '03 BMW 540i 6 speed as my kid friendly and very fun DD now.
I've always loved the earlier (3.2) 911s. I realize I'm going backwards in many aspects with this car but I think I'll really enjoy working on it and 'making it mine'. Plus, it cost less than half of what I could pick up a decent 993 for now...

geting asked why you picked a 3.2 is something I get all the time (coming from a really "pretty/shiny" 996)
many people are confused and a statement like "going back" could be replaced with "moving forward" in terms of understanding the true 911 - I hope someday to get a longhood or ? early car
oil?
there is generally 2 main choices and about 200 "others"
Brad Penn 20/50

Valvaline VR1
(hope this is the right one - 20/50?)

might as well buy some trans oil too:

That is a great looking color! Congrats!
I would recommend before laying down any money, take a careful inventory of the car and prioritize what you need to do. It gets expensive, even doing the work yourself.
I would definitely consider the fuel lines behind the engine (if they were not addressed in the top end job)... these can get dangerous with age.
These are great cars, but they are getting old, and I think just getting the car back to 100% shape in its stock configuration first is the way to go. THEN think about mods.

+1 well said, esp when $ is tight and a single oil line can cost $1k...takes the "fun" $ away pretty quickly

I'll keep it mostly stock - but there are some items I'll want to do down the road. I definitely want to replace the steering wheel - never liked the stock version. I do have some paint re-conditioning to do in some spots initially too...
I have to say I've always wanted a 3.2 with a tail - but now I'm not so sure...The lines of this car just look so clean without it (color perhaps?). We'll see...
I pick it up in the morning. Gonna drink a good bourbon tonight to celebrate and hopefully help get some sleep![cherrsagai](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/drink.gif)
You guys are the best - I really do look forward to many years of enjoyment (and some headaches for sure) from this car and the camaraderie of this forum.
Look forward to meeting some of you South Eastern guys in the north GA mountains this fall.

I have cycled through "the newer, the better" mindset, and now find myself yearning for the days of my '79 SC with a special affinity for the '73 RS and Carrera. Heck, a 550 (I'll take a kit version) is even on the list.
There is so much character and rawness in the older 911s - it just took me a few years to really appreciate!
