Just wondering if anyone's come across any fiction with a 911 as a featured character?

James Patterson's character Alex Cross (Kiss the Girls) drives an old 911S coupe. The one used in the movie looked to be a 76-77 911S.

The Alex Cross character (a Washington, D.C. police detective) in James Patterson's novels always drives what is referred to as an "old Porsche". Unfortunately, the car gets very little attention in the novels and never seems to be more than mechanism for indicating that Cross is not your stereotypical cop. In spite of the slighting of the 911, the novels are really good.

I haven't read the books, but the movies

In Tom Clancy's "Patriot Games" Dr. Ryan (the main character's wife) drives a 911.

I like the part in "Patriot Games" where she is described as lovingly polishing the chrome bumpers on her 911.

In " the Big Chill", John Hurt drives a 911T Targa rat that looks like it is painted in primer.
Great movie for boomers, great music.

" Civil Action" - in the book the main character Jan whoozits, drives a few different Porsches including ,I think a 911. ultimately his 928 gets repossessed. Great book. In the movie of the same name Travolta drives a black Targa and gets a speeding ticket entering and leaving the same town. Movie not as good as book.

Don't forget Bachelor Party! The bad guy (Kent from Real Genius) gets his otherwise immaculate Targa turned into a flames-on-the-hood, jacked-up hot rod.

And that Michael J Fox movie where the bad guy races in a Porsche, and Michael J Fox wins by putting a Bus engine in a station wagon.

"Patriot Games" is the only Clancy novel I haven't read, though I've seen the movie many times. So if she mentions polishing the chrome bumpers in the book, why was she driving a Carrera Targa in the movie? No chrome bumpers there.

Can't think of too many novels with P-cars, but there are a lot of movies, not to mention just about every Seinfeld episode. How about the Speedster in "Top Gun", the 912 in "Spy Game", the 928 in "Risky Business", the 996 in "Mission Impossible II", the 911 chop shop in "Heat", the 930 in "Bad Boys" -- that's just what comes to mind. There must be hundreds more.

Now I remember the movie, I just couldn't
remember the name.

"B" movie ( maybe C+) with Sheen as devil incarnate and master " Porsche only " thief.

Lot of good 911 action, - driving,chopping up and fixing. Other than that you've been thru this plot before.

Sheen and Randy ? (uncle eddy in National lampoon vacation movies)probably trying to forget.

If you are including TV under fiction-

Krusty the Clown at one time drove a White targa.

Don't know if he still has it or if Bart had something to do with it's demise.

I think the John Sandford "Prey" books have some significant parts including the main characters 911. Pretty good mysteries also.
