I forgot about "No Mans Land with Charlie Sheen. There were quite a few nice 911s in the movie. A few months ago, the cabriolet he drove (an 85 Euro) was for sale on ebay. Sheen also has a line where he is sitting in a car with DB Sweeney and Sweeney sees a Ferrari and asked about stealing it. Sheen makes a comment (can't remember the exact quote) that he doesn't bother with Italian junk. (no offense intended).

No Mans land was on TV last night on FLIX.

I also saw the ebay 85 euro porsche for sale too!

I think she went for 14-15k.

Actually, Dr. Ryan drives a Targa in all of the Clancy novels. It's her daily driver. Jack Ryan drives a Volvo station wagon.
Damn Washington Republician Yuppies....

Here are too more movies with P cars. I recall that in the opening of the Cannonball Run, Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise had set up a crazy looking 935 like Porsche which Burt crashes.

Also, I caught part of "Arthur" last night. Dudley Moore takes a few laps around some track in a blue DP 924.

" Bull Durham "-

Rookie phenom played by Tim Robbins shows up in Raliegh in a 911. ( last time I saw the movie I missed the one scene it's in ).

In a later scene he brags about having "a 911 with a big Blaupunkt"

Let's not forget "Against All Odds," the movie (don't know if there was a book). HBO or some other cable station was running the movie recently, and I just had to sit through some of the movie before the race scene come on. It's a great scene, a black Ferrari 328 driven by James Wood (movie trick of course) and a red SC cabriolet driven by Todd Bridges racing down Sunset Blvd.

Also, Tequila Sunrise, where Mel Gibson is a former (trying to be) drug dealer with a black 930. That was when I decide I wanted a 911. I don't recall Mel doing anything special with the car in the movie, but it was my "birthing" moment. Don't know why.

Let's not forget the awesome action packed movie COMMANDO starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"Sully" drives a yellow ducktailed early targa. Arnie finishes him off by saying... "Remember when I promised to kill you last Sully? I lied." Whoa, what a badass!

Trivia: what kind of muffler does this car sport?

If I am not mistaken, in the movie CaddyShack, one of the characters vomits into a 911 Targa.

There was a pretty cool mistake with Commando as well. After AHnahld destroys the left side? of the car, he flips the thing over and drives off. In flipping it over, he apparently did some body work, because the thing is spotless.

I managed to catch about 30 seconds of "Dumb and Dumber" last night on tv, and as they pull up to some function in a horse and carriage, there's a red 911 w/ spoiler parked out front. not much of an appearance, but it was there.

I've been scouring the local video places for No man's land, and none of them stock it. 47 copies of "The Olsen Twins take Manhattan", and no "No Man's Land."

Don't think this one's been mentioned yet...although I don't remember the name... I think it had John Travolta who played an ex-ambulence chasing laywer who turned good guy and went after a big time corporation who was dumping toxic stuff in a water supply.

Seems like it was a black targa.

In "Mystic Pizza " Julia Roberts gets mad at her rich boyfriend and dumps a load of fish or something in his Targa.

That must be why I never became a JR fan.

Thumbs up

As mentioned above, John Sanfords Detective Lucas Davenport spends a great deal of time "getting his head together" etc in a 911. The "Prey" series are great reading! In the more recent books he has upgraded from an older 911 to a more contemporary year, not given by the authhor.

That was "A Civil Action." Travolta gets two speeding tickets from the same cop on the same stretch of road (going to and from his destination)

Sorry to drop by from the 944 board I'll be going now!
