Early Sport Seat Rail Finish
I have a 72 with original sport seats but the seat rails and the recliner mechanism seem to have been repainted at some point in wrinkle finish black. Does anyone know how the seat rails and recliner mechanisms were originally finished? I can see on page 66 of Brett Johnsons Guide to Authenticity that the recliners are black, but not whether they are gloss, flat or wrinkle finish.Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello
Porsche sport seats came with chrome, smoth mate black and rough/wrinkle finish mate black.
AFIR the wrinkle finish came with the 2,2 replacing the chrome platet units and the same finish was used on the standard seats as well.
Not sure when they swaped over to smoth versions.
Will try to find something about it in the next days.
