Default Anyone seen this car?

I got this back in 84 and imported it from Germany, it was the Frankfurt auto show debut of the Carrera. Painted in a VW color of all things, darker than Prussian blue it mostly looked black unless in the sun then a sort of metallic eggplant purple, stunning, the photos do not do it justice they were scanned from an old print.
Serviced from new by Pete Zimmerman at Redline.
I sold it in 89 to a Dr in 90210 and then saw it for sale again in Santa Barbara a few years after that but nothing since.
It had a full leather navy interior with sport seats, 7s and 8s and the tail, other than the color not much else to differentiate it from a ROW Carrera-it had the Euro brain and all of the 231 HP so quicker than a US car.

If anyone knows where it is I would like to know.
Many thanks,

check with euromasters near San Diego. They do some quality restos on those old 911s. Chances are, they've come across this car. Gorgeous 911 by the way! No wonder you want it back.

Why would you assume that? I'd say they've only see a small fraction of the 911's in SoCal.

I guess you know more about them than I do. Sorry for making this misguided assumption.

No need to apologize. It just struck me as odd. Euromasters is actually in Orange County, and seem to be offering some form of rebuilt 911's. I think their pricing is suspicious, but who knows? This looks to be a very nice car, and IMO would not be a candidate for remanufacturing. I don't consider Euromasters very mainstream at all in SoCal Porsche circles.

Mr. BH; I don't know the car's whereabouts, but I will ask Marc about it. You should also send a pm to "Droops83." Nice guy and he was at BW as an instructor; drives a 944T. He is a Santa Barbara guy, maybe the connection that you need.

Other than they are a small dealer, and I know of nobody in SoCal who uses them, or even mentions them. Their suggestion struck me as odd. There are a number of mainstream shops, such as Redline, TRE, Black Forest, etc, that would be logical. If I were to poll a dealer who knows P-cars, it would be Truspeed.

I suppose I was applying my knowledge of SoCal.

Mr BH, you are certainly not the only person who would like to re-locate a sweet, formerly owned 3.2 Carrera. Over the years I have sold a few that I now wish I could get back. It's not that I regretted selling them at the time, it's just that with the passage of time, I look back realize that few replacement cars were as satisfying to own.

TRG1, you are so right, as I look at what is out there to buy I could kick myself although it was the 8month pregnant wife that kicked me into selling in the first place. It was the right thing to do at the time and my lovely bride has now pretty much taken over the garage now anyway.

Every 3.2 these days seems red, white, black or silver, I am digging the 964 for now and in writing this thread I realize a few things.
1. You can't go back so go forward.
2. Do I want to find this car really? I sold a pristine car, anyone who knows Peter Zimmerman knows the car was mechanically flawless, do I need to see it now 20 years later? I get around in Porsche circles and have not seen it so it is either in someone's garage or stolen, chopped and sold for parts.
3. The 964 is a phenomenal car. Especially when it is not white, red, black or silver!

Thanks to all,

Thanks, Mr. BH! I also would love to find one, actually two, of my former cars (the 930 is in great hands so that's not a problem!). The first is VIN 84811, which just happens to be a '58 Speedster. I hold little hope of ever seeing it again, when I sold it the car was its original off-white with S 90 power, I was told the next owner took it to the SF Valley and painted it green. Oh, well.

Car number two is a genuine '70 914/6 that I sold to a gentleman named Mac McKee. Mac moved his family out of SoCal many years ago, and relocated to, I think, Kansas City, but I can't be sure. That car had Bilsteins, comp springs, big front sway bar, M, S, X gears, front oil cooler plumbed with aeroquip, and a very nice amount of HP/torque. Great car, I did a 1.36:00 lap on the big track at Willow Springs in that car, and drove it to work the next morning.
