Angry Winter/snow tires

Does anyone know what size winter/snow tires i need to fit to my 84 Carrera. Wheels to be used are 15 inch "telephone dials". the handbook says 185/15, but these seem a little small, skinny.summer tires are 205/50 15 at the front, 225/50 15 at rear. I will probably not be driving in much snow, mostly icey conditions. Please help as i'm confused!!!!!

Check to see if your current tires have the “M/S” on the side walls. If they do, depending on age they are already Snow tires by US standards. The sizes you have are as good as any for your “mostly icy conditions. You can get real snow tires from some of the magazine or online sources but unless you drive in snow a lot, it’s probally not worth it. My wife’s ’87 Carrera daily driver uses Dunlop 5000 in those sizes on 7 x 16s all around. Her summer tires are Kuhmo’s (same sizes) on 7 & 8 x 16s.
