Thumbs down weird power drain

whats up all?Hope evrybodies holidays were good.
Alright, check this out haven't driven the p-car in two weeks. I had started the car a week ago but no driving. I have also had a slow drain on the battery I think because the bet will work for three months and will go dead. Well aqnyways, got in the car tonight and started it as usuall. Drove 5 miles and the lights went dim and the tac went crazy. Once I got the revs up it settled back to normal but everytime I went stop, the lights would dim out. So do you all think this is the battery? I kind of need this for peice of mind. I will get the drain on the batt figured soon but should I just recharge the battery and go from there??

Thanks for all your help.Back to the beer!

Hi Brian: Sounds like a battery to me. And I would just replace with a good new one instead of a rescharge.
I had an older battery in my 80SC that came with the car so I was'nt sure of its age. And when I would drive at night the lights would dim a bit and then brighten on excelleration. It never failed to start the car but was'nt holding a good charge. Anyway I put in a new Sears diehard as they had the proper size. The car runs better everything works better that uses its juice.
I would always recommend putting a charge on a battery that has sat for several weeks, so the alternator dosn't have to work so hard. If it dosn't need a charge the charger will just click off so it also gives you a feel for the battery condition.
Let us know
