Car pasted perpurchase inspect w/o any problems. Has auto themo in center console which kicks on when temp drops but no heat? Fan runs just no warm air, drove for nearly 30 minutes w/o any results. Where should I start looking ?

Follow the air. Start in the engine compartment, and follow the fan output to ensure it's solid to the pipe that sends air to the heat exchangers. Coming off of them is a paper hose with wire in it, which could have ripped. Then there's a valve on each side that lets the air go forward or dumps the hot air into the wheel well area. I'd look at the paper hose first followed by ensuring that the automatic portion inside is telling the valves by the wheel well to open.

Jerry--97% sure your problem is a loose or broken bellcrank rod. In the black housing between the seats is a small door or hatch cover on the passenger side of that housing just below the multi-position switch. If you can--remove that little door and you should be able to feel a small rod between the bellcrank and the servo motor that operates it when the switch is turned up. That rod and bellcrank are operating the doors on the heat exchangers beneath the car. Usually one side of the rod has a broken socket the snaps on to a ball connector. I ended up removing the black housing to repair mine. Installed a new rod.
