Post Exhaust Gasket Sealant?

I'm about to install a Dansk single-in/single-out sport muffler on my 84. Do I need to use a sealant on the gasket? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks.

Just a thought. I use anti-seige when ever I join metal to metal in a high temp situation. Now for a muffler the temps may be way excessive for this stuff to work.

Nope. Use a new factory gasket (911.111.191.01)
between the cat and the exhaust flanges, though.

Used a new gasket, no sealant. Sounds great!

Thanks for the advice.
